- New Force in "Takefuji Bamboo"! -
Announcement of New Player, Tayyiba Haneef

Takefuji Corp. is pleased to announce that it has successfully concluded a contract with Tayyiba Haneef, welcoming her as an ace attacker for the women's volleyball team, Takefuji Bamboo, a member of the V-League.

Tayyiba Haneef is a star player from one of the world's three most powerful teams: the U.S. national team. She is a highly skilled attacker capable of attacking from front guard and rear guard, utilizing her height of 201 cm. At the Athens Olympics, Haneef had the highest success rate in spikes and the second highest success rate in blocks. We expect her to make a major contribution to the Takefuji Bamboo team.

"I am very happy to play in Japan with the players of Takefuji Bamboo. I want to learn how to defend against the fast attacks of Japanese players and I will do my best to lead the team to victory, fighting for every score and every game. I look forward to the support of volleyball fans in Japan," said Haneef, when she joined the team. Takefuji Bamboo will continue to work positively on building a powerful team.

* Takefuji Bamboo will take part in the National Sports Games 2004 (Magokoro Kokutai in Saitama), to be held from October 23, as Saitama Prefecture's Representative Team. We hope to have your support.
