Takefuji Becomes Special Sponsor to the 2005 Japan Series Freestyle FIS WORLD CUP

Takefuji Corporation is pleased to announce that it has become a special sponsor to the Freestyle Ski World Cup Japan Series to be held from February 5, 2005. The name of the event hosted by the International Ski Federation (Fédération Internationale de Ski or FIS) will be "2005 TAKEFUJI Japan Series Freestyle FIS WORLD CUP", and it will be held in Inawashiro of Fukushima Pref. on February 5 & 6 and in Naeba of Niigata Pref. on February 10 & 11.
The achievements of Japan's freestyle skiers are amazing, with the Olympic and World Cup performances of mogul skiers Tae Satoya and Aiko Uemura, Yugo Tsukita's medal-winning performance at the World Championships, and with Hiroomi Takizawa in the Ski Cross competition, which became a World Cup discipline from the 2002 to 2003 Series, wining the first championship. Boosted by such high level of Japanese skiers, freestyle ski is one of the most popular winter sports in Japan. There are also high hopes of Japanese skiers at this competition consists of the world's top skiers.
Takefuji has always been actively involved in supporting sporting activity, managing the V-League Women's Volleyball team Takefuji Bamboo and holding the LPGA Takefuji Classic, as well as being a sponsor to sporting events such as J-League and the World Gymnastics Championships. Moreover, Takefuji has been offering volleyball lessons for housewives and junior, junior-high and high-school students. At this competition also, we intend to make every effort to support the event to ensure that all skiers are able to perform to the best of their ability and that all the ski fans have a great time.
