Takefuji Issues Co-Branded Credit Card: MCS Asakusa MasterCard®
|
| Takefuji Corporation is pleased to announce that it has entered into an agreement with MCS Project ("MCS," Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director Nobuyuki Yamashita). Under the agreement, from May 2, 2005, Takefuji will be issuing a new co-branded credit card called MCS Asakusa MasterCard®, primarily targeted at shoppers in shopping malls in the Asakusa district. Takefuji will be advertising for membership of the card through commercial associations for the shopping malls in the Asakursa area, which are among the Company's member stores. |

| | Takefuji has been committed to developing co-branded cards as part of its initiatives to expand channels to attract new customers. The recent agreement with MCS is part of these efforts. It combines Takefuji's credit card business with the development project of the shopping malls to issue a brand-new credit card that meets the needs of shoppers in the shopping areas and thereby provides highly community-based customer services. In the initial year, Takefuji will aim to convince 350 stores to accept the MCS Asakusa MasterCardsR and to obtain 8,000 card members. Takefuji has also set a target of increasing the number of stores accepting the card to 1,500 in three years, including some stores in neighboring areas, while increasing the number of card holders to 50,000 over the same time period.

Supporting comment for the launch of the MCS Asakusa MasterCard® From Teruko Tominaga President of Non-Profit Organization Zenkoku Shotengai Okamisan Kai President of Cooperative Asakusa Okamisan Kai
"Asakura has now regained the spotlight as a site for new generation amusement and entertainment, while still maintaining the traditions of the good old days. This town Asakusa now has another new specialty: the Asakusa Card. Featuring a portable miniature of the Asakusa (Sanja) Shrine, the card is a delight to hold. I hope that it will be useful not only in Asakusa shopping district and to local residents but also for the many people who love Asakusa." |
