We are pleased to announce release of our first mobile phone called "Benkei-kun" (* Note1) with a new payment system. Takefuji will offer this mobile phone to 10,000 applicants among its customers who make a new loan contract during the campaign period that is scheduled to kick off in August or later this year. "Benkei-kun" application is mounted into an "Osaifu-keitai" (*Note 2) produced by NTT DoCoMo, Inc. This mobile phone has wallet function which system is equipped with the "Edy" pre-paid electronic money service (*Note 3), operated by bitWallet, Inc., as well as Takefuji's original application. Customers can charge "Edy"e-money through the "Benkei-kun" mobile phone directory from their Takefuji's credit accounts. Also Benkei-kun mounts useful functions and services, such as credit payment through infrared data communication, telephone bill discount service, news distribution and browsing information. This payment system, Benkei-kun, will be distributing free in FOMA N901iC (*Note2) model provided by NTT DoCoMo, which is highly popular among customers. Further service details will be announced at a later date at Takefuji's branch offices as well as advertising in media.   Takefuji Corporation has devoted oneself to improve the company policy,"Customers First", and has been seeking to provide services from the viewpoint of a customer all the way along since its establishment that earn customer satisfaction. Going forward, Takefuji will improve the further system development of the "Benkei-kun" more as a main tool of mobile payment alternatively to conventional plastic cards that will become a personal authentication measure. Note1 : "Benkei-kun" is named after benri (handy) and keitai denwa (mobile phone). It has been devised as a name for mobile handsets equipped with Takefuji's original application and also for the application that works on these handsets. Trademark registration is pending.
